The 2nd hole at Kau Sai Chau’s Public Golf Course East Course is a shot par 4. You can hit a long iron or fairway wood off the tee as longer drives will have you hitting off a severe downhill lie for your approach into this picturesque green. The tee shot is particularly difficult because there’s only about 20 yard distance on which to have a flat lie. Too far and as mentioned you’ll be hitting from a severe downhill lie, not long enough and you’ll have a blind second shot. I try and leave myself about 140 yards in, which, depending on how much wind there is, will play a club or a club and a half less. If the wind is into you, it makes the shot even that much more difficult trying to judge the distance. This is one of the better holes on Kau Sai Chau’s East Course although not really a risk reward hole as even if you decide to be aggressive and hit driver from the tee, there’s no reward unless you can fly it over 300 yards. This is an easy par if you play it right, but you can easily rack up a big number if you don’t hit the right shot.
