Kau Sai Chau Playing Lessons – East Course Hole 6

Hole 6 on Kau Sai Chau’s East Course is good one.  The drive is up and over a hill, longer hitters will have no problems but many shorter hitters will struggle to get it up and over the hill even when playing from the whites.  There’s a lot of room in the landing area but with nothing to aim at, it’s a menacing tee shot.  Longer hitters may be able to reach the green in two if playing from the white tees, but for most Hong Kong golfers taking a golf lesson in Hong Kong it’s a three shot hole. The 2nd shot will be a layup, and it’s not an easy layup with trouble both sides and to get close to the green (like within 140 yards) you’ll be hitting another blind shot. The third shot isn’t much easier, if you manage to get yourself in the best approach position you’ll be hitting to an elevated green which plays about a club longer surrounded by trouble.  Short left is a couple of bunkers which will leave you an extremely difficult bunker shot – you’ll need to pull out your Hong Kong golf lessons for this shot should you manage to find yourself in one of them.  Long is trouble, right is trouble.

This is the hole NOT to play aggressively, and if you’ve been paying attention to any of your golf lessons from our Hong Kong golf coaches, you’ll know conservativeness is the name of the game on this hole which you can easily rack up a big number if you’re not careful.  The hole is not unfair, it just requires a degree of thought.
